About Victoria
Hello from the Geeky Gal!
I am a mathematician with a passion for helping people learn about the subject that gives a lot of us the urge to eat a whole pint of ice cream in one sitting and watch Netflix instead of tackling problems 1-8 that you and I both know are due in about 14 hours.
My service stands out because I do so much more then tutoring. Every student is unique, and there is no one solution that can be applied to each one. My goal is to find out exactly what each one needs and to work with them to acheive their goals.
Whether you are looking for homework help, test preparation, or just a different perspective on the material, I'm your gal!
My favorite part of my job is that first, it's all I do, which means I have the time to work closely and carefully with each of my students, and second, that each family and student I work with has such different needs and I get to help design and implement the solution that works best for them.
I am a mathematician with over 7 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked with students ranging from 1st grade to college, as well as with a variety of different learning challenges and disabilities.

My process for working with a new student is to set up a time to chat on the phone about the details of the student's needs, times they are available, areas that need particular attention, and their goals.
At our first meeting, I spend time with the student getting to know about their class and what they are struggling with in their own words and then we dive right in!

Perfect! Victoria has been heaven sent! From the start, Victoria spent time to learn about our situation and my son. She is very organized, professional and very pleasant to work with. My 14 YO has gone from frustrated to feeling successful, in fact he just got a 100% on his last math test! This is all thanks to our Geeky Gal!!

My 8th grade daughter was struggling with geometry, and feeling terribly discouraged and pessimistic about it at the end of first semester. She also was feeling pretty beaten down by some significant "math swagger" from other students. She started working with Victoria from The Geeky Gal, and she really turned things around. Victoria did a great job connecting with her and figuring out how to explain things so they made sense to my daughter. She helped her overcome her discouragement and her feeling that she just was "not as smart at this" as the other kids in the class. Here at the end of second semester, my daughter now has a thorough understanding of the material, a solid A in the class, and a dramatically improved confidence level and general overall attitude. What a difference! I could not be happier!
