About Richard
I am a certified and experienced middle school math teacher. I love teaching math, especially pre-algebra, algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
I love being able to work with students who are having difficulties with a math topic and helping them develop and improve their skills and understanding. The best thing about tutoring for me is the feeling of accomplishment when a student is excited about the improvement in their skills. I love math and I think I am able to communicate that enjoyment to the students I work with.
I was valedictorian of my high school class and a graduate of Harvard College. I am a certified math teacher with many years of middle school teaching experience.

I usually have an initial tutoring session at no charge to see whether the student and I are a good fit. The key to successful tutoring is to understand where the student is in his or her work and go from there. Often there are different ways to go about solving a problem or to illustrating a concept. I pride myself on being able to find the best approach for my student.
