About Ben

Recently done most of these courses, I'll have tips and tricks for each math course that will improve your learning and success. I'm flexible in teaching many types of students, and I'm excellent at teaching math competition skills.

I truly enjoy seeing my students improve and succeed. Students who work with me slowly start enjoying math, a subject that they feared consistently in school.

I become a tutor from knowing an ambitous individual who worked at the Kumon I went to. He took me under his wing when I was only 15. His tips and tricks were handed down to me. Now with almost 5 years of experience, I hope to help students with their education one lesson at a time.

Sophomore in college. When I was in 6th grade, I completed the Kumon Math Program, learning calculus at age 12. In high school, I have taken AP Calculus BC with AP score 5 and AP Statistics with AP score 4. In college, I've taken Linear Algebra, Calc III, Differential Equations, and Graph Theory.

I've done multiple math competitions such as the AMC 10 and 12, qualifying for AIME three times.

I've been tutoring since I was a sophomore in high school. I was taught by one of the best math tutors in St. Louis, and I truly enjoy teaching.

About the lesson

The first lesson is usually where I "get to know" the student, where I test their math background, see what's the best way they learn, and go on from there.

Rest of the lessons are students asking me questions or concepts they don't understand. I'll explain everything clearly, make sure they fully understand, then have them write it down in a notebook. For homework each week, I'll have them review the questions and concepts from the last lesson. That way, they will remember these concepts and get similar questions correct! Sometimes, I might quiz them if I believe they aren't doing this :)

I've worked with a variety of students. I mainly work with high school and college students, and I pride myself in being flexible with all different ways of learning.
