About Vernice
I love helping elementary and middle school students with math or reading! I love teaching and helping and am excited to do my best to serve students. I have been a virtual tutor for the Oklahoma State Department of Education for the past year.
I currently teach middle school but have also taught elementary. I am certified in both and I love both ages. I have a master's degree as a reading specialists but also love to teach math. I have been teaching for 15 years. In addition, I am certified in special eduction so I have experience with learners that may be lacking confidence.
I have been a public classroom educator for 15 years. I have taught elementary and middle school. I have an associates degree in accounting, bachelors degree in business, a masters degree in education with a focus on reading. I am a Oklahoma certified educator with certification in early childhood, elementary and middle school, reading specialist, special education, technology, and math. In addition, I have been a virtual tutor for the Oklahoma State Department of Education in 7th/8th grade math and an elementary math tutor for Remind.

I like to start with the process of getting to know a little about the student and his/her learning styles. In addition, I also want to help the student to feel comfortable by getting to know me too. I will do a short assessment on the subject and grade level that the student is desiring tutoring on in order to find where learning gaps may exist. I will share the results and discuss with the student and parent a plan of action.
