About Ethan

My name is Ethan Lee and I am a current tutor at Eye Level Learning Center in Bellevue, WA. I plan on attending an undergraduate business program with a concentration in finance. Thus far, I have been involved in a variety of youth/volunteer organizations - I would like to share these experiences with my students to encourage similar participation. I have worked with three different college counseling services and would love to work with both Middle and early High School students to maximize their future application potential. As a member the National Honor Society, I have been able to gain invaluable experience tutoring fellow students, notably in Calculus/Pre-calculus and Chemistry. Working with you/your student, the first thing I would like to do will be to construct a comprehensive study plan and a big-picture schedule that will improve your application quality to higher institution choices of your choice.

I have been a violin teacher for autistic adults at a non-profit organization for the past 3 years. From this experience, I discovered my love for sharing my knowledge. On top of my experience as a violin teacher, I have also taught ~30 students over the summer in an introductory Trading and Investing Course. Also, as mentioned earlier, I started tutoring at Eye Level Learning Center in Bellevue, Washington.

I am currently responsible for teaching 13 students in mathematics at Eye Level Learning Center in Bellevue, WA. As such, I have extensive experience teaching children new topics, as well as assisting with new ones.

In High School I have achieved a 4.33 GPA with 13 total classes (including 5 I am taking this upcoming year). I have never scored below a 4 on my AP tests; this year, I received all 5s on AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 1, AP Spanish, and AP English Language. From this I am a recipient of the National AP Scholar Award. Here is a total list of my current/past AP classes:

- AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1, AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Spanish Language, AP Spanish Literature, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP World History, AP US government.

Outside of school academics, I have taken a 10 month data science course offered online by IBM, as well as two financial courses related to investment strategies and portfolio management. I would love to teach you/your student some of the principles of finance which may provide a window into pursuing a career in that field in the future!

About the lesson

First, I will create a plan on both the micro/macro scale. To do this, I will ask a few questions in regards to the subject that (they) are struggling in and their current study situation and/or plan. From this, I will give my best personal tips in regards to time management and schedule manifestation. In the big-picture (macro) scale, I will ask questions about my student's long term goals - skills, careers, colleges - and will capitalize on that knowledge by finding the best resources and/or organizations that my student can take advantage of.

I have experience teaching math and science to fellow High School students. I have also been giving private consulting to Middle School students. My teaching skills may be best suited towards Elementary, Middle, and early-high School students.

It is all about passion. The people who know their subjects the best have a passion for them! It may seem obvious that you shouldn't hire a psychology major to teach you economics, but even when it comes down to core topics such as mathematics and sciences, you MUST look for those who are either working in that field or in academic pursuit of those fields.

I am in the process of a fundraising event for nonprofit organization where I teach autistic adults. Currently, I have 7 team members on board and together we are selling dried lavender pouches and masks. I am constantly reminded that I am not the only one who I should be considerate for - there are many people who need help, and I was raised to help others!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think "BIG" picture. Although it may sound like quite general and generic advice, it is very important that you keep in mind the things that you are working towards. For me, I constantly remind myself that I want to pursue a career in banking. As such, I motivate myself to take courses in the trading/investing realm.
