About Jared

I stand out by offering my clients 8 years of experience and firsthand achievement. I am only twenty one but have achieved exactly what my clients are seeking. While tutoring, I became Valedictorian of my high school, a nationally recognized debater, and a recipient of a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University. I am offering my 8 years of tutoring experience as well as my own success.

Since I am young, my students feel more comfortable and communicative in our sessions. Without clients feeling comfortable enough to ask questions or tell tutors what is not working, tutoring is useless. Thus, students tend to listen to me more and in general my tutoring sessions are more effective. In fact, many of my students have become successful mentees during their college application process. Two of my students just received full rides to top 15 universities.

Tutoring allows me to use my best asset, intelligence, to help others. My mother is a pre-k instructor and has always encouraged my to learn and teach. I absolutely love teaching and seeing my students find success through my lessons is the most rewarding feeling. That is why I co-founded the speech and debate program at Nautilus Middle School and coached for its first two years. I have actually tutored many for free but now need paying customers to afford travel expenses for my last years of college.

I went through the public school system and realized a lot of students fell through the cracks of it. Instead of doing nothing, I helped them. Some of my clients are now at out of state universities (Pomona, Rice, Columbia, UC Berkely, Duke, etc.) while others have full rides to schools like UF, FIU, and FSU. My first time tutoring, I actually helped a senior in high school physics at the age of 13.

I have been in their shoes. I scored a 1510, was Valedictorian, and am a current student at an elite university. I have tutored for over 8 years now and am more than capable of teaching.

About the lesson

I first define schedules that work for the both of us. Then I send a diagnostic to see where that student's strengths and weaknesses are. Usually by going through the diagnostic, I am able to better understand his/her/their thought processes and tutor to the students needs.

I have taught middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students. Note that I have also coached for baskebtall and have years of expereince with athletes. I even tutor baseball players from Vanderbilt University (most of which are going to play in the MLB).

Make sure you can comfortably talk to whoever you hire. If you cannot be honest about how you have been studying or what you do not understand, then tutoring is useless. That is also why I think I am perfect for tutoring. I am only 21 and am a lot a more relatable than other tutors.

My old debate coach, Russel Rywell, decided to run for a position on the School Board for Miami Dade-County. I was touched to see he used a picture of me and 3 of my closest teammates for his campaign. I even reached out to him and we actually caught up after not seeing each other for a couple years. I am so grateful to have had him as a mentor and am glad I was able to see him again. I aspire to be as great of a mentor as he was for me.
