About Ethan
I have always enjoyed math and numbers and, through my years of experience as a high school math teacher and after-school/summer tutor for students with dyslexia and special needs, I have discovered that every student can learn to not only understand mathematical principles but to also enjoy what he or she is learning!
As a tutor and teacher, the best moments are when a previously struggling student begins to understand and click with the content.
It will always be my goal to help each student reach his or her full potential by not only mastering the content but also learning to enjoy the process.
I enjoy math and learning. Helping my students, who may hate math or believe it is impossible to thrive in mathematics, begin to grow that same enjoyment is the most rewarding part of the job.
As I said, I have always enjoyed working with math and numbers, but I discovered my love for teaching when I got the opportunity to work as a teacher's aid in college as part of the on campus work study program.
I hold a bachelor's degree in liberal arts/mathematics.
I am a trained math tutor for students with dyslexia through the Hindman Settlement School. ((concealed information)
I have worked as a secondary math teacher at Riverside Christian School ((concealed information) as well as worked with both gifted and special needs students in after-school programs.
I am currently employed at Vinton County National Bank and I am pursuing my MBA.

I have worked with primarily high school students, although in my summer tutoring I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds.
I have experience working with gifted and special needs students and I am specifically trained to work with students with dyslexia.
