About Payeton

I am very passionate about Mathematics and helping others understand concepts, processes, and connections is not only fun but also gratifying to me. I have a lot of experience tutoring people of all ages. I have tutored family, friends and people around the world through media.

I enjoy my work because helping others is fun and accomplishing. Tutoring people does not only help the student, but it also helps me become better at teaching and getting faster at solving problems.

I have hundred of hours of experience tutoring people from around the world through a free tutoring discord. I've tutored pre-algbra, algebra 1, algebra 2, college algebra, geometry, precalculus and calculus 1. I have also tutored on campus at my school. I have tutored family and friends. I am also currently a math major taking the courses linear algebra and multivariable calculus.

About the lesson

I first ask my student what class they are taking, what they are currently learning and what they want to get out of the tutoring session. I have my student present their question or topic they are struggling with and I then ask them how they would go about solving that problem as if I were not there to understand their thought process. If the student is stuck entirely and doesn't know how to get started on the problem, I then help them understand what the problem is and the concepts that are related to it so they can better understand the nature of the problem and how to solve it. I like to work with my student and solve the problem with them and guide them so they can solve the problem independently. I also can do example problems if needed so they can see the full process of how the problem is solved. If the student is seeking to understand a topic but not a problem, I will ask them what they know about the topic and further explain the topic and present possible problems where this topic could be related.
