What I liked the most about working in Chemistry class was that we had a lot of interactive activities that allowed me to be able to learn in a fun way. There were hands-on experiments almost every week which kept the students engaged and ready to learn. These experiments were not just for fun as Ms. Craven was able to teach several different concepts with these experiments. I also enjoyed that she was very engaged and interested in helping her students succeed and expand their horizons. She took me and other female classmates to the Engaging Girls in STEM convention where we were able to meet women that were part of the STEM working force. I was able to get a clearer understanding of what it takes to become involved in STEM and that it’s not impossible.

With Erin as my tutor, I was able to pass my intro to Chemistry class with a B+. She explains concepts thoroughly and goes over any concept I didnt understand fully. She answered all my questions and simplified anything I saw to be difficult.

The thing I enjoyed about working with Excellence in chemistry/biology is that Ms. Craven would help us out and made the class fun. Aside from all the labs she created for us the way she taught us was good because we were able to understand what she meant.
