About Maria
I am a positive person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life. I love my job and I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals. If I can have a positive impact on their future, I feel I am doing my job well. I am an effective communicator, both in writing and verbally and I have a strong ability to plan and organise effectively; something which is crucial to the role of a competent teacher. I adapt my teaching style in order to cater for everyone and make the material as interesting as possible.
I’ve been working as a tutor for a little over two years now. I began tutoring after I got my teaching degree as a way to build a supplemental income, but I ended up loving it so much that I just continued doing it.

At first, I started teaching at a school, students of grade 8 and 9, so I have worked with students at the age of 14-15 which was challenging to make these teens accept to learn math taking it in a fun way. Encoureging my students to study and practice was one of the important things I have done, since math gets easier the more you practice!
Also, I have been teaching university students. While these students are more mature but they still have different types of personalitites, different interests and they come from different majors. A lot of them face difficulties understanding math and passing their courses which motivated me more to be the change for them to suceed. I helped students in different math courses, starting from zero to getting an A+ easily.
I believe that students feel comfortable with what they learn by being comfortable with whom they learn with.
