About Mehanaz

Hello! I am extremely passionate about being able to put my academic career to use by having the opportunity to pass my acclimated knowledge to others. I believe in the power of academic excellence, integrity, and community service to not only better myself but my surrounding community. I have received a 1220 on my SAT and a 24 on my ACT. I have taken AP Language and Composition, English 10 Honors, English 9 Lyceum Honors, AP Forensic Psychology, IB Psychology, Pre-Calculus / Trig Honors, AP Calculus, Algebra 1, Geometry Honors, Duel Credit Statistics, Duel Credit Chemistry, and AP Government / Politics in my academic career. I will be attending Indiana University this upcoming academic year.

I enjoy being able to have the ability to create meaningful connections with those that I have the oppurtunity to tutor. I believe education is vital and I feel very honored to be able to teach others.

I am apart of my high school's National Honor Society and have been thankful for the opportunity to tutor my surrounding classmates. I have been tutoring for 2 years. I have also been apart of my schools Peer Facilitating program where I helped elementary school kids ranging from K-6th grade with their behavior and academics.

About the lesson

I will usually begin by getting to know the student, the subject they wish to be tutored in, and the best method they believe will benefit their retention of the content covered. By catering to the academic comfort zone of the student, I am able to make them feel more comfortable and excited to learn.

I have worked with classmates ranging from 9th to 12th grade as well as elementary students ranging from K through 6th grade. I have been blessed to work with kids of all different types of personalities and learning methods. The kids I tutor have been shy, talkitive, outgoing, slacking, but all of them have had the ability to improve in their respective subjects.

I would advise students to find a teacher that makes them excited and eager to learn in the subject you're looking for. Learning should be a fun and fulfilling experience even with all of the hard work involved!

A recent event I'm fond of would be The New Year because it always feels like a brand new start, an opportunity to grow and improve in my abilities. Also, it's so much fun to watch the ball drop and be able to create a whole new year full of great memories!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A student should think though what subjects specifically they would appricate help with and the best method they believe they'll be able to learn or the method they would have the most fun learning with. They should also think about what type of teacher best suits their requirments!

Details

I will charge $25 for 30 minute tutoring sessions and $50 for 60 munute in any of my listed services. Any duration shorter or longer will depend on the requested session length.
