About Steven

I am in my senior year with Arizona State University pursuing my Bachelor of Business Administration. I also have an Associates Degree of Science with Moraine Valley Community College. I have done coursework in mathematics, software engineering, finance, management, business operations, pricing, and supply chain management. I am a certified web developer and TEFL teacher.

I have 2 years' work experience. In addition, I was a paid online notetaker with Arizona State University where I sat in and listened to lectures and took notes to help an alumni with a disability pass his classes. During my 8 months' time as a Sales Associate at Kohl's, I stocked store shelves and provided excellent customer service when possible. I was constantly commended by customers and my supervisors for providing excellent customer service and activating credit accounts. I was also a software engineer in training with Revature. I worked on 5 exciting software projects with a group of 20 coworkers where I provided valuable insight and sat in on meetings. I hard coded Java, C# and HTML to make websites and connected networks to hosts. Through my work experience, I was able to strengthen my skills as a team-player and a self-starter by communicating effectively in both written and verbal forms. I tackled all tasks assigned to me and made it a point to exceed expectations by surpassing my goals. I got along well with others and adapted to my environments, so every day was a new experience on the job.

I earned my certification in Teaching English as a Foriegn Language (TEFL) with LearnTEFL online. I took a 120-hour course where I was taught various methods of teaching and the type of content a TEFL teacher would have to teach through a set of 10 online modules. After, I took a written test to give extended and detailed responses to a set of questions. I passed all tests and exams with flying colors. I learned to author curriculum and write tests to effectively teach students to help them grow in the subject. I assessed students and tailored curriculum based on their needs and learning capabilities. I identified learning styles based on observation and controlled the learning environment thorugh mastery of command and became an active listener and doer. I am comfortalbe teaching students at any age and stage of learning development. I understand people behave differently at different ages, and I plan to combat the issue by adapting my teachings and disciplines to different levels of classrooms. I tutored students in an online environment called VIPKid for 2 days. I earned my web developer certification through CIW in 2017 by making websites and identifying internet protocols. With this, I have proven capabilities of learning quickly and effectively, and capable to taking knowledge I picked up and teaching it to another individual.

I would very much like to be an online tutor with this website for a long time. I can teach online via webcam and notetaking via online platforms. I signed up to be a math tutor in high school to help students in my class pass their tests.

I have certifications in web development and TEFL teaching. I also was a tutor and a notetaker. I taught my autistic brother how to speak English at a young age by showing flashcards with pictures.

About the lesson

I will introduce myself and get to know the student by asking questions like an interview. I will note the answers and assess the student's learning style.

I worked with students in my classroom during high school and college. Recently, I taught young kids in foreign, non-English speaking countries learn to speak English.

Make sure they are highly qualified and knowledgeable in the subject.

I was awarded the President's award for Academic Excellence when I graduated high school. I was proud to receive the prestigious honor.
