About April
I have taught 4th & 5th grade for 15 years in West Windsor-Plainsboro School District in New Jersey. I am dually certified in general and special education and offering private instruction in either math, reading and/or writing. We would meet once a week for a personalized lesson based on the academic needs of your child.
As a teacher I am quite fortunate to be a part of my students' growth both academically and socially. I believe the learning process is collaborative and that children learn best when they feel valued and heard.

I would first talk to the child's parents and gather information on their child's academic needs. I would then ask the child what they think they need help with and lastly I would preassess their skills in that particular content area so I can design lessons for our tutoring sessions.
