About Mckenna

I am a mechanical engineering graduate that chose to major in that in order to continue to do math. Ever since a basic algebra class in middle school, I felt excited by the "right or wrong" nature of math and found a way to teach others how to learn it in the simplest of ways.

I passed my AP Calculus exam with a 4, I took up to Calculus 3 and continued into Differential Equations along with other engineering specific courses that called upon all types of math. I have also tutored a few different college students ranging from Calc 2 to business calculus to Economics.

I have always enjoyed teaching people and math is my favorite subject to do this. I have taught in various things including high ropes course facilitation, SAT tutoring, Calculus 1 and 2 tutoring, Business Calc tutoring, new member training, and more!

About the lesson

I would like to understand which math class they are in, what they are specifically having trouble with in that class, and then go over a problem set to get their general understanding of the course material.

If I can teach remotely, I will do so and utilize Zoom and screen sharing to share how to solve problems. If in person tutoring is necessary, I can also do that.

College, high school, and middle school. College majors have ranged from Business to engineering and in between!

I would advise the student to look for someone that has been in their position before and somewhat recently. It is important to understand the busy life of a student and their needs within the subject material as well as how to balance that with their lives.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What exactly is confusing them about the material? In math, there are many different subcategories such as visuals (graphs, shapes, etc.), solving for a variable, or figuring out which avenue to take to solve a problem. Once you can narrow down a patter to what confuses you the most, you can get the most out of your tutor.

I am priced per session. Sessions typically last around 1-2 hours with work done by me prior to the session to be prepared. The total cost of each session is $100.
