About Robin

I do not have any teaching certificates; however, I do have an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. The math I tutor in is what I had taken during my education. I give as much time as needed to go through each problem in order to get a better understanding of how it's done. Although sessions may be 30 minutes, 45 minutes or an hour, I never end a session unless there is a full understanding of what we covered.

I enjoy helping students reach their potential. Sometimes you just need an outsider to help you see things you normally wouldn't see. I helped to tutor my niece in math after failing the course twice. After spending time with her to show her how to break down the equation, she finished with a B that semester!! I am not an expert by any means and what I don't know, we figure out together. When the lightbulb turns on, I enjoy seeing the Ah ha moment look on the faces.

My niece was struggling with passing her college algebra course after failing two times. I offered to help her and worked with her schedule to do so. While some sessions where long, I thoroughly enjoyed helping her.

About the lesson

Working one on one is the best method in order to provide a student more quality time to ensure there is a better understanding on how the equation works. I have a white board to help break down the problem. I also use Mathway as another source to provide a breakdown as well.

I can work with all types of students. My niece, who I tutored, has cerebral palsy so her ability to grasp certain things took a little longer. I make sure there is a full understanding before going on to the next thing.

Do your research on their credentials. Especially if the tutor rate is high.

After weeks of tutoring my niece, she finally passed her math with a B. That was a monumental event for both of us - knowing how much she struggled and failed in the past.
