About Stephen

I deliver tailored tutoring sessions to clients' students following an assessment to determine the true level of the student's current capability. I've taught students in math, english and science for 11 years and I have loved every minute of it.

I strive to give every student the best experience and work possible at every session. I care about every student's progress and their well-being, as a student's learning is affected holistically. I understand that every student of mine will have their own learning style, their own particular mannerisms and their own progression rate and I adapt to the needs of my students.

Teaching is my passion and it is what I love to do.

About classes:

Class makeup iwill vary based on session length and level of work and the needs of the student.

After the assessment a lesson plan is created which is based upon student need, any upcoming testing, and future plans for the student.

Students are taught more than the subject in question. They are taught how to study, good study habits, how they learn and techniques for increased knowledge retention.

Parents are given regular updates on their student's progression as well monthly reports.

Students are required to complete their assigned work prior to each class session's start.

The tutor, parent and student are all a team with the singule goal of making the student succeed as much as possible. With effort on all parties' part that goal can be reached.

About the lesson

A phone interview is given where I speak with the parent about known student needs and what they hope to see from class sessions with me. I usually give a base idea of what to expect from classes with me. We schedule out an assessment for the student.

The assessment is given and I go over any further details with the parent at the time of the appointment.

I draft up a plan for the student based off of their assessment and send the contract over to the parent(s) by this point.

The parent(s) review the contract and if they choose to move forward we both sign it and I present them with a copy for records.

Payment is processed prior to the first class session and then I proceed to fill in the knowledge gaps in my student's understanding and update the parent of any issues that may arise as they are brought to my attention to maximize success and speed of progression.
