About Ethan

I teach study skills, test taking skills, application guidance, and professional skills, while also covering material and course work needs. This way I am not only offering temporary boost, but preparing students for a successful academic future.

My goals are to assist the developement and achievement of students learning goals, while preparing them for further education including college and the proffesional world.

I have personally mentored students that are attending universities such as Duke, Harvard, Stanford, MIT and many more.

I have a passion for furthering the education of anyone and everyone. I have long been a proponent of education and gaining knowledge being a great start to solving almost any problem.

During College I worked as a Teaching assistant for the MIT OEOP offering college level coursework as well as college application advising to high school students from underrepresented groups. I fell in love with it and am now trying to maintain my passion for education.

I worked for the MIT Office of Engineering Outreach Programs as both an instructor/mentor and a facilitator. These programs are designed to give assistance to students in achieving their goals of attending and succeeding at universities such as Harvard and MIT.

In these positions I have personally worked with admissions officers of many top tier schools to provide guidence in the application process.

About the lesson

Start by finding out what the student wants to achieve and use this information to set goals and milestones together.

I would then take some time to asses where the student is in relation to these goals so we can identify the areas we should focus.

From there I would plan out a timeline that would help the student reach their goals while working on target areas and strengthening all around learning habits.

I have primarily worked with high school students, but have some exerience running robotics camps where I would teach middle and elementary school students.

As far as achievement level I have taugh a wide range from high achieving students looking to improve their skills to students who are just looking for some help on the core concepts of thier subject.

Look for an instructor that tries to understand your learning style. Too many instrictors coming from traditional education believe that their way of teachig is the only way students can learn and many students will end up suffering for it. There are many ways to learn and you just have to work with someone who tries to find yours.

My Typical set up involves meeting once a week for 1-3 hours at a set price of $30-$50.

The meeting schedule and cost are both flexable base on student needs. If more or less frequent sessions are desired then That can be accomodated.

Importantly, recurring weekly sessions are more effective for reaching long term goals, but as cost is per session there is no commitment to further sessions and they may be cancelled at any point with no charge.
