About Anjelai

My service stands out because I have just finished my junior year of college, as I am studying to be a math teacher. I am not very far removed from the math courses that students need help with and I also am freshly learning new techniques in my college courses to teach students which is very useful in tutoring.

I love helping students understand math concepts. There is something special about working closely with students, getting to know them and refreshing their knowledge on concepts they were previously introduced to. I have been tutoring fellow college students and high school students near my school for three years and I really enjoy the time I have spent conecting with students over the subject that I love dearly.

I am currently in school for my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education-Mathematics.

About the lesson

When working with a new students, I first like to ask them a few questions about themselves so that I have reference points to their personal lives when helping them with course work. Through working together, I begin to learn which teaching strategies work best for that students and how I can best help them understand different concepts.

I have worked closesly with seventh graders, nineth graders, tenth graders, eleventh graders and college students of varying ages. I also have worked at before and after school programs with elementary aged students.
