About Shirly
I am a certified High School Math Teacher with over a decade of experience and an M.A. from New York University. My background is rooted in high-level mathematics and two passed Actuarial Exams. I taught pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trig, AP Statistics, SAT/ACT Math Prep at the high school level, giving me an insider’s understanding of exactly what it takes to achieve top-tier scores.
* I specialize in high-stakes results. My sessions are designed for motivated students who want to dominate the curriculum, score a 5 on their AP exams, or accelerate beyond their current grade level.
* Personalized Academic Strategy
You’re not just getting tutoring sessions: you’re getting a structured, results-driven plan. I look at the big picture and build a roadmap tailored to each student’s goals.
* Targeted Acceleration
I help students get ahead by learning next year’s curriculum in advance. This allows them to skip levels when appropriate and step into honors or advanced tracks feeling fully prepared.
* Elite Test Preparation
With deep experience in AP Statistics and state standardized exams, I teach the specific reasoning, efficient problem-solving methods, and “grader-expected” approaches that lead to top scores.
* Extensive Practice Resources
I provide carefully selected practice materials, mock exams, and focused drills that align directly with each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
* Strong Mathematical Thinking
Whether we’re reviewing school assignments or exploring more advanced concepts, I train students to think clearly, logically, and with precision like true mathematicians.
I work best with families who value academic excellence and are ready to commit to consistent effort and growth.
