About Paige
I have taught 8th grade math for one year, and student taught 6th grade math for a semester. Additionally, I have tutored peers and children in mathematics since I was in high school. I am licensed in Illinois to teach elementary school and 5-8 mathematics, but I could tutor math up to pre-calculus/trigonometry or ACT prep.
I love helping students grow. When I help a student understand something they've struggled with, I greatly enjoy seeing their satisfaction with themselves for sticking through and working hard to be able to do the problem.
I loved tutoring and helping my friends in high school, and I love helping people enjoy math.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics. I hold a teaching license in Illinois for elementary 1-5 and mathematics 5-8.

I like to get to know the student's interests and prior knowledge to make the lessons as applicable and effective as possible. Once I know the student, I would like to see how they do on some questions, getting progressively harder, to see what level they are at to begin patching missing knowledge and building on current knowledge.
I have worked with students of all ages, from elementary school to high school. Some students have had IEPs or 504 plans, some students have been English Language Learners, and some students just wanted some extra enrichment.
I would tell that student to find someone eager to help their students grow both academically and personally.
