About Bruce

I always loved helping others. So when my original instructor invited me to help him in his classes, it was as natural to and attractive to me, as a fish swimming in water.

this was back in 1980. Since then I have traveled a colorful and delightful journey. One that has afforded me exposure to multiple martial arts, and so is it finest teachers.

I am certified 6th degree black belt in Japanes karate, and hold rankings in various other martial arts. I have been teaching for over 38 years, and have worked with both children and adults from the age of 4 to 74.

About the lesson

First and foremost, I want you to meet with me in person. I will take you through a micro-lesson. We will discuss your strengths and your weaknesses. Your goals and inspirations.

What is important to you, both short and long term. What is important NOW!

I have experience with all ages and abilities. Children, adults, physically impaired as well as autistic students.

I enjoy giving everyone the gift of martial arts. It is truly a gift that keeps on giving.

You truly get what you pay for. If you are shopping for crisis, you will probably end up getting a not-so-qualify teacher. Pay for a trial lesson, or a private lesson, and see how the teacher interacts with you. And how you feel about his teaching style, and the service that you were provided. Try a small tryout set of lessons, like our Micro-lesson package.

To truly get educated in martial arts, you need dedicated practice and time. So make sure, that your teacher is a right fit for you.

If you go to our website, and click on my blog, you will find multiple essays that my students wrote (unbenownst to me for quite a while), for their college application.

I found out 2-3 years later, and it brought tears of joy to my eyes. It made me overwhelmingly happy and proud, to have been a force of change and improvement for the better in their lives.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my real goals?

How often am I willing to train?

How seriously am I willing to train?

What resources am I willing to commit to acheive my goal?
What is my budget, time constraints, other obligations.

After meeting with the teacher:
Did I feel a sense of respect for the instructor?

Did I feel a sense of connection with the instructor?

Did you give me his/her full attention?

Did S/he ask me direct questions about my needs?

Did S/he address my needs through my introductory lesson?

Did I enjoy the lesson? Was it fun, as well as challenging and educational.

Do I feel a sense challenge, if I was to go forward with him/her.

Along with being an excellent instructor, Bruce Hojati is a wonderful human being. I can't say enough about the care and kindness he's shown my children. Nothing is more important to me than my kid's future and I've never met anyone who has earned my trust than Bruce Hojati.

I highly recommend Bruce and his service to anyone seeking high quality instruction and genuine leadership from a true master. You will receive irreplacable individualized attention that instills core values along with strong skills. You'll see growth in confidence as well as physical ability and your children are very likely to treasure their instructor. Bruce Hojati is an honorable man who exudes strength, integrity and honesty and that comes across strongly in his interactions with students.
