About Joe
Hello!
Thanks for visiting my page -
I am a former high school band director and currently an active duty musician in the Navy while simultaneously pursuing my masters degree in Cyber Security.
During my time as a teacher, I found that I also had a passion for helping my students prepare to be successful, well-rounded citizens. While studying music education, I found that it’s better to teach students how to learn than it is to teach students the subject material. It may be that a student struggles in a particular area - but if we want to provide them with continued success, our teaching needs to be comprehensive and long-lasting. It’s not always about the material, sometimes it’s about helping them find passion and drive so that they can be their own tutor in the future.
I have had success in several subjects, including college preparation, math and science, computer learning, reading and writing, and of course, music!
