About Nirupa
I am an ex-Wall Street executive, who was trained for 14-years to be customer centric and results oriented. In 2017, facing burnout, I retired from my previous profession to explore my love for writing and learning. I am a non-stop adult learner. I write non-fiction and love to tell stories. I organize creative learning outlets for adults in the arts.
I come from a very strict educational system from India where getting top marks was often prioritized over the quality of the learning journey. I ranked number 1 for almost 12 years in school but I was not having fun. I want children to experience education and learning as a creative, imagination activating experience. My teaching style starts with understanding what kind of a learner the child is and following techniques where the child can learn by doing or by role modeling. We will focus on tangible results and metrics that are set to boost the child’s confidence in learning foremost, activate curiosity and critical thinking. Let’s work on making learning fun again!
I would love to teach reading, writing, literature and the social sciences.
I can only do remote teaching on Zoom or Google Meets.
