5. Previously worked in conservation, horticulture, land management, local government finance, planning and tertiary teaching.
6. Hobbies are gardening, photography, research (presently history and environmental ethics and previously environmental law and the social and environmental history of places).

1. Start with the reason for a tutor being required.
2. Identify topics to cover and study framework, e.g., NCEA.
3. Agree on a timeline.
4. Identify subject areas to cover under each topic.
5. Set out an agreed study schedule.
6. For each lesson/tutorial provide a structure.
7. Have the student take notes.
8. Review the matters covered at the end of each session.
9. Identify problems and solutions for the next session.
Previously a distance education lecturer at the Open Polytechnic of NZ and an outside examiner at both Lincoln University and Massey Universities in different subject areas.
I can easily cover the range of needs for both the environmental studies and history having extensive practical and research experience in both subjects.
