About Alley

I have a wonderful teaching demeanor and a multi discipline, multiple breed knowledge. I have worked with circuit trainers, 501c3 rescue organizations, and average class hobby horsemen. I have knowledge in both English and Western disciplines, in disciplined rail as well as trail riding. I have worked with people that have physical and mental disabilities and enjoy doing it my students always leave looking forward to the next lesson and learning something important about horsemanship.

I love watching kids smile when they first take up the sport. I love working with the horses they are such an amazing animal. I love yo see the reward and feelings if self worth that come from riding and working with horses.

I started teaching when I realized I loved it so much as I worked with friends children and family members. It became a deep passion in which I realized the students will go on to change the horse industry for the better or worse so it's the teachers job to help them along the right path.

I have studied with other professional trainers for over 14 years. I have had two working apprenticeships and have covered for a trainer and their lesson program in which a lot of 4h students were enrolled.

When a student first comes out to take a lesson, we work on learning the safety procedures around an equine first and foremost. They will learn how to groom, and tack up the horse, how to put  thon warmprotective boots for the horse, and how to warm up, and ride. They learn about equitation, and proper communication mounted and on the ground. They will also then learn to cool out the horse and how to put the horse away.

I have worked with beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders. I have worked with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities.

I would tell someone interested to do research about the person you would choose. Research and make sure that you communicate well with that individual. Communication is key.

In taking one of my intermediate students to a show for the first time she placed fourth place amongst 17 other rides. She worked so hard for that placing. And it was also the horses first show.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask about the methods of training the teacher is using to train the lesson horses that they provide. It is important to understand how the horses are trained in order to ride them.
