I love working with beginner students and watching the joy of learning to feel safe and confident and to bond with their own horse.

If you are an advanced student but still have some things to learn, I can help you with that, too.

I had some young neighbours who loved horses and wanted to learn how to ride. I am comfortable teaching the basics so I jumped at the chance to help.

With 10+ years of experience under my belt to offer new students, I feel comfortable teaching the basics and more. Tho I do not have any special training certificates, I have learned so much from my own riding instructor through the years and love to pass it on.

About the lesson

I try to meet each student wherever they are in their skill level. A good foundation is essential and crucial to having good horsemanship. You might find yourself being asked to do something that is out of your comfort zone and that is how you grow and learn. I practice safety first and try to go at whatever learning pace you are comfortable with.

Most of my students are young, from the 5-15 range, but I have helped adults as well.

Meet the instructor before your first lesson. Everyone has a unique teaching style, so make sure you are comfortable and feel safe with the instructor and what he/she is asking you and your horse to do.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your long term goals?

Do you have all the necessary tack and grooming equipement (saddle, bridle, saddlepad, brushes, hoofpick, etc.?

Do you have proper riding gear (boots, jeans, helmut, etc.)

Do you want to take your skills to a competitive level?

Are you and your horse at the same skill level?

Details

Lessons vary depending on your personal needs. I typically start at $30 for a half hour lesson. (lessons generally take more like an hour from start to finish when you take into account the grooming, saddleing and cool down process, but I usually only charge for the half hour of actual lesson time).
