About Ashley
I try and create lessons and activities for each student on an individual basis. I don't just have basic activities. I strive to get students interested in the topic as best as I can. This will help to ensure more information retention.
I love working with students and seeing them attain their goals. When a student learns their letters, aces a spelling test, or that math test we've been working towards, it makes me feel amazing. Their face is beaming with pride and it is an amazing feeling to know you were a part of that. The same goes for secondary and even college students that I have worked with.
I was a nanny for a few years and then had a daughter. After I had her it just clicked what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I have been a Girl Scout's troop leader, volunteered with multiple child-centered organizations, and assisted in many classrooms. It has been amazing to get to work with children daily. I can't wait to have my own classroom.
I am currently going for Childhood Inclusive Education degree. I'm a junior at Brockport University. I've worked with students for over 10 years and have subbed at different districts in Monroe and Wayne County. I am in a kindergarten classroom at Webster Central School District for most of my mornings.

I like to learn about the student for part of our first session. This helps me to personalize "lessons" so that they better understand them. It also helps me to get a feel for their learning styles. Some students learn better visually while others are auditory learners. Customizing the lessons to better suit your child will help them to retain the information and will help to raise their grades.
