About Rosemarie

We offer certified educational coaching, study skills, and have tutors with over 20 years experience in this field. We work with the students strengths to ensure their success and confidence to last throughout their entire life. We are compassionate, humorous and make learning interesting and fun. We also offer test prep for all grades, and levels and Masters Essay/Thesis help.

I thoroughly enjoy using my own creativity to find ways to help the student I am tutoring. Whether the student is in grammar school or college, I love to see that "light bulb" go off in the students eyes, which is normally followed by a smile that they "get it." That is when I know that I've done my job, and that is what truly makes it rewarding.

I began teaching by volunteering as a teenager. I absolutely love helping students realize their potential. I knew this was the work I would want to do for the rest of my life.

I have experience as a NYC Board of Education Teacher, and I've been a tutor for over 20 years. I have experience in mainstream classroom, special education, english as a second language and learning abilities of all types. I am also a certified education coach.

About the lesson

Depending upon the subject that the student needs help in, the first thing I do is see where their comprehension levels lie. I do this in order to give additional exercises to both help them raise their levels and challenge them.

English language learner's, Special Education, Advanced Placement, Inner City at risk students

Make sure you have a teacher who is patient, and makes the subject interesting for you! Having a tutor means that it's the teachers responsibility to help you in a way that you will completely understand. If you have the right tutor it should be something you look forward to.

In November 2019, I became a certified Educational Coach. I also have a paper that will be published at the end of 2020.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
If there is something I don't understand, how will you help me understand it?

Do you have a sense of humor?

Rosemarie Archer at Strive and Thrive Educational Coaching and Tutoring is an excellent tutor! Rosemarie was incredibly insightful, patient and highly encouraging with helping me with my history assignments and research papers. Rosemarie helped me get through painful writer's blocks that I had with understanding the links between my class readings and discussions and guided me to figuring out how to connect the homework assignments to the bigger picture of the course.
In addition, she tutored me in how to best organize my research that it not only made sense to create a concise bibliography but more importantly to see how all the sources connect with each other and make it simple to cite when needed in my papers.

I highly recommend her as a tutor for history research papers and projects. Her skills are fantastic in helping making history fun!
