About Salima
Hi there! My name is Salima B, and I am a sophomore at HACC. I am a social service major. If you are interested in getting your kiddo some extra tutoring, please contact me and I would be more than happy to help! I tutor kids who are in the range of 5-14 years of age (kindergarten-middle school). I have 5 years of working with kids. From my nannying, babysitting, preschool and tutoring experience, I have: In depth knowledge of autism, excellent classroom management, enrichment activities, and in depth knowledge of cognitive skills in children. My tutoring style mainly involves positive reinforcement and kinesthetic learning. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, I absolutely understand the need for remote learning, and I will be offering zoom video calls as an option. I do still offer in person tutoring, masks will be worn and we can follow CDC guidelines while we are together. I hope to be in touch! Thanks!
My favorite moment as a tutor would definitely be when you finally see the moment where your kiddo understands and gets the problem! I just love to make learning fun!

I usually begin our sessions with a bit of a get to know you chat, so that the student feels more comfortable opening up with me. After that I usually will ask the student where they think they are struggling, and where they think they are succeeding in school. Once all of that has been talked about, I like to see what a normal week looks like for them (assignment wise), after that, we take it from there!
