About Medina
My service stands out because it is very customizable with my students needs. I am able to accomodate with students that don't know much of the English language, and am also able to accomodate students in History college courses and high school college courses. My broad expansion of teaching doesn't fall within just one age group or just one type of student. It's personalized to the type of learning style the student is most comfortable with.
I love seeing my students truly understand the material they are learning about. When someone is confused and they finally understand what they're learning, it's like I quite literally see their face light up with happiness and that alone is worth it to me. It's not just about recieving a good grade, it's recieving a good sense of knowledge that's most important when learning. If you just memorize, then that information will be gone once you're done with the course or once you're done with a test. The power of learning is much more deeply rooted than that, and that's my goal when working with students.
I started teaching when I first entered high school. I tutored middle school aged children after school that didn't know much of the English language, and helped them with the majority of their classes. This set off a spark that embarked my love of teaching, especially History, because I'm so passionate about the subject itself.
I have been a private tutor for over 5 years. In my experience, I have helped students learn English (if they natively speak Bosnian) and I have also tutored high school students in U.S. History for over 3 years. I have taken AP U.S. History, recieved an A in the course, and am currently an Undergrad majoring in History at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. For every History and English class I have taken at my University, I have recieved an A. I also helped my fellow students also recieve A's through hosting study groups once a week and leading the discussions and study sessions.

When working with a new student, I always make sure to get to know the student first. Once I get to know the student a bit, and see what their hobbies are, that automatically translates into their type of learning style. With this information, I can see if they learn more hands-on, if they're more auditory learners, or if they're visual learners. This will help expedite their studying and they will truly begin to understand what they're learning without feeling overwhelmed by their coursework.
I have worked with AP High school students, college students, middle schoolers, elementary school children, and students that don't know much of the English language.
Talk to the teacher beforehand and make sure they understand the importance of knowing what learning style you prefer. If you hire a teacher and they are only comfortable showing you slides instead of explaining and helping you remember certain things (for example, in history it would be dates), then they probably wouldn't be a good match for you.
I am most fond of teaching online, especially during this pandemic. Getting that one on one time with my students is very important to me because I can customize their study sessions to best fit their learning styles. Recently, one of my students that was very hesitant on taking an accelerated history course, recieved a 97% on their final in that course, signifying they truly understand the material and recieved the score to prove it.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Personally, you don't need to think through a question if you have specific needs you want to qualify for or if you are confused about something. Learning shouldn't be hard and there shouldn't be a barrier holding you back on expanding your knowledge in that certain subject.
