About Jacob
I have been a history teacher for six years in the middle school, high school, and collegiate level. On a peronal note, I obtained both my BS and MA in history. For my BS, I focused on secondary history education. For my MA, my emphasis and thesis were focused on environmental and colonial American history. As an accomplished educator and historian, my goal is to help my students grapple with and fully understand historical thinking skills.
My passion for history is only equaled by my dedication to helping my students achieve success in the classroom while learning skills that will assist them in the workplace. Helping students recognize their own abilities through historical studies brings me great joy.
I always wanted to help others through teaching, specifically as it pertains to historical understanding.
I have six years experience as a history teacher in the middle school, high school, and collegiate level; effectively tecahing in-person and online classes that covered US and Western Civilization. Similarly, I hold two degrees in history; my BS in secondary history education and my MA in environmental coloinal history.

I generally like to know where the student is coming from acadmically as well as which topic in particular they are having issues with. Likewise, having a firm grasp on what it is they are wanting to get out of the session is also important.
I have worked with middle school, high school, and collegiate level students in a variety of ways.
History is not a hard subject, nor does it have to be your worst subject. Recognizing patterns, testing strategies, and other nuances are greatly beneficial in succeeding in your course work.
My first child, my daugher Aurora, was born in October of 2020 and it has been the best moment of my life.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How do you learn best? What do you hope to understand more fully through this process? Is there anything that you already know but are having issues grasping?
