About Evan

I am majoring in Political Science with a minor in history at the University of Missouri and have a passion for US history especially. I would love to show your child how cool history is and how unique our history is. My past jobs have been working on campaign trails and interning for US Senator Josh Hawley and working with numerous law firms in Columbia. As well as tutoring middle and high school students in history.

I enjoy the face on the student when they get a score back knowing how hard they worked

My little brother who is a senior at Rock Bridge now needed help in social studies all throughout his schooling and I started helping him. After that I started tutoring kids in my class who needed help. When I got to college I started working at Grade A Plus.

Worked for Grade A Plus which is a non-profit tutoring center in Columbia that works with kids who don't have the resources to get help

About the lesson

Get to know them, see how they operate and how they learn because everyone learns differently. Then once I've figured out how they learn and we've built a relationship where they are comfortable I start teaching the subject as if it's the first time they've heard it in an attempt to make sure nothing is missed for the best possible result.

5th-10th graders

All different learning styles and all of them saw an increase in their grade.

Pick someone who gets that you might not learn the same way someone else does. As well as pick someone who has proven results and stick with them even if the score gets worse because one score doesn't define your ability to succeed.

The last person I tutored was at Grade A Plus and when I started with them they had a 13% in History. By the end of the semester they had a 79%. After I started working with that student the lowest test score he recieved was a 87%. If I would've started earlier with him he would have finished in the B plus range.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why am I asking this?

Will this answer benefit me?

Is there anyway I can find this answer in my notes?
