About Brianna

I am a senior history and anthropology major in the education track at my university. This allows me to give a deeper perception of history through my interdisciplinary studies. I have received the award for most outstanding history student and received two scholarships one for my education pursuit achievements and the other for my outstanding history grades.

My service stands out from others because I understand that children's lives are just as complicated as adults. However students need way more guidance navigating the world. My service stands out because not only do I want was best for every student, but I cater my lesson plans around the needs of a student. In my subject matter I also emphasize the importance of understanding. Because you can know the information but not understand the purpose or meaning behind it. And that is what makes a great educator and student.

I enjoy the most about the work I do, is connecting with students on a deeper level. Very often schools are understaffed and a lot of students don't get the attention that they need. And advantage I have as a tutor is to make sure that students get one on one attention to make sure that they're guided in the right direction to get the best grades as possible.

Ever since I was a child I've always wanted to be a teacher. I was always interested in education primarily because my parents were immigrants and were  not able to receive the educational opportunities I have. Very fortunately I have been well educated and would like to share my knowledge with others in addition to helping them they need to change the world

I have worked educating middle school girls in environmental science and environmental advocacy two years at city parks foundation. I've also recently worked at the Brooklyn botanical garden in which I taught elementary school kids how to garden and formulated lesson plans surrounding agricultural science.

My typical process working with a new student is first I ask them for any syllabus or work material that they have readily available in the class subject that they need help in. Then I will formulate a lesson plan based on the students needs. Over the course of the lessons we will go over work that was done in class, learn studying techniques and practice new material.

I have worked with middle school, elementary school and I have also mentored a few high school students.

The advice that I would give is to hire a social studies teacher that is well-rounded and open minded. Teaching a very biased version of history can lead to an accurate information and misleading definitions of truth.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about the best way that they want to receive an education. Students should question how they learn best, whether that be through reading, writing, or through an artistic expression. When students learn the best way that they learn, they can match with a teacher that will understand the way to best educate the student. this student should also question how many lessons that they want, are they willing to commit to certain days and times, and lastly how serious they are and improving in a subject.
