About Zach

I have been making, performing, and loving music since I was 14. I studied music for 4 years in college and continue to play live shows, work in professional recording studios, and teach private lessons. I understand a variety of musical styles and am able to teach them in a way that best fits YOU. We will work together to find a way for you to learn and grow your musical skills!

I love seeing students grow and understand the material they are working on. When a new skill finally "clicks" and a student has an "ah-ha" moment, I know that I have done my job. I want people to love and appreicate music the way I do.

I first taught students out of my house and then joined the Patrizio Center for the Arts in Latham NY. There I taught students at the Patrizio Center's facility.

I have been playing music since I was 8 years old. I first took lessons on trombone. By high school I was taking guitar, piano, and voice lessons as well. I picked up drums, ukulele, and other instruments along the way. In college I attended music school where I studied classical voice, recording engineering, and continued to play other instruments. While in college I taught guitar, bass, ukulele, and drums.

About the lesson

The first thing I do with a new student is set goals. What do they want to accomplish in the next few months. Learn a song? Write a song? Master a technique? Having a goal will give us something to work towards. Once we have achieved that goal we will set a new one. After our goals are set I assess their skill level. Do they have any background in music? Have they played before? Having our goals set and knowing where to start from gives me a great foundation to plan lessons from.

Children from ages 6-18.

I am able to help you achieve your goals if you are willing to put in the time and effort. I can only give you the tools you need to become a great musician. The amount of practice and rehersal time that you put in is extremely important. The more you practice the better you will be!

Details

Lessons cost $20/half hour and $35/hour. Cancellation is free with more than 24 hours notice. Make-up lessons can be scheduled, but must be made the day of your cancellation.
