About Daniel D
Daniel utilizes a holistic approach of in-depth yet easily understood methods of technique, theory, improvisation and comfort on the instrument as the instrument becomes an extension of the student for self-expression and elite level performance.
Daniel has multiple BAs and Master's in music performance and composition from Antioch College, where he was a Rod Serling Fellow and Olympia Brown Scholar after winning the National Scholastic Art Award for best young artist in the Nation. He has been teaching music for over 15 years and has performed in many notable acts, opening in Ohio and around the Nation for well-known artists such as Toots and the Maytals, Parliament Funk and Guided by Voices. He now is the lead guitarist for Cleveland rock band "the Quandary" while his students continue to excel artistically, academically, and in life.

Music is my life. I also love to teach as I am a patient and kind person who cares about people- and as I've learned much in my lifetime, I enjoy to share it more than anything.
I have always taught music.
I've multiple BAs in music composition and performance, and a Master's in music theory from Antioch College.

Of course the first thing to determine is the student's existing skill level, identify areas of strength and what skills the student needs to develop, in accordance with their goals. Typically, even for students with experience performing there will be some instruction in theory to easily connect what they know with the foundations of music theory. For students less advanced instruction in basic fundamentals of technique will be necessary. In either case, comfort, familiarty and scope of the instrument is the premise for instuction.
I have taugh students of every age group, level of experience, and background.
Hire a teacher who is patient and kind.
A student of mine won a major award for music at her high school recently. Obviously this is not my biggest personal accomplishment but in some ways I am more proud of my students' accomplishments than anything else- also this just happened last week, and you asked for recent.

Details
Honestly, I try to work with the student's situations. Typically I charge $30 an hour, but I offer discounts for many reasons, including bulk purchases (usually for multiple students in the same family) and economic status of the family or student.
