About Vincent
Hi, private guitar instruction is now available with Vincent Havens at my home in Simpsonville, SC. Beginner, intermediate and beyond. I am a patient, caring instructor and do all I can to simplify your learning process and make it as fruitful and fun as possible. A list of my qualifications include more than 30 years experience on the guitar, both acoustic and electric, 2 years of harmony and music theory and personal instruction in guitar with virtuoso "Jim Campilongo" for several years. The styles covered include rock & roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, some jazz standards, ragtime, western swing and traditional country western. Basic music theory, notation, tablature as well as teaching some "hot licks" by ear are included in my lesson plan. One of my goals is to teach improvisational skills through the understanding of chord structure and scales. Styles include flat picking, hybrid picking and finger-picking. For most of my life I have played guitar in bands and combos. I started getting requests to give guitar lessons from people who heard me play.

I have had students from 8 years old to students in their late 70's.
