About Kris

I am passionate musician, performer and teacher, with over 30+ years of playing and 20+ years teaching students of all ages and levels. I have both a bacholor and a masters degree in music performance with a comcentration in guitar and have studied advanced jazz guitar improve through Berklee. I also teach and play many other plucked/strummed instruments, bass guitar, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, music theory and piano.I have taught privately and for public and private colleges and universities in VA. I enjoy helping beginner students gain a passion for music and helping advanced students achieve a higher understanding of their instrument but most of all I love helping other obatain their own personal musical goals.

I started teaching while I was an undergraduate at Radford University.

I hold both a bachelor of music and a Master of Arts in music either an emphasis in music performance and pedagogy.

I have also taught music for Radford University, Virginia's Governors School for the Arts, Roanoke College, Lynchburg College, Emory and Henry College, Blue Note Music, Hayden Music, A Little Knight Music, Radford Communty School for the Arts and Barry's Music.

About the lesson

I assess each student on their individual needs and goals and start them off on a fun and educational music lesson. This will help each students learn and grow fast.

I have worked with hundreds of students over the last 20 years, men, women, children of all ages 5-95. I have taught beginners though advanced professionals.

You should look for a real teacher, there are many fine players out there but not every great player can teach, look for someone who can can do both and help you with understanding your instrument as well as understanding how music works.
