About Roger
I play by ear, and teach music by ear.. We start with the basics, and you will learn a song in two days (or two sessions). Mostly classic rock, but if the need arises for other types, we have on hand 5 other teachers on stand by. Most teachers have one hour lessons, we have one and a half hour lessons. It's $30 for one session, but if the student wants multiple lessons, we can accomodate any arrangements for the student.... the more lessons they have in mind, the rates are reduced per session. ive been playing since 1976, and its been fun all along the way. The lessons we offer are not "by the book", its by the ear, and we will teach you any song you want to learn, as well as the structure behind the music. The lessons are free of stress, and much patience is granted to the student. No time limit on any session. After the hour and a half session, the student wants to extend the session, its $15 an hour after the first session. 5 hours is the limit to any session. Students surprise their parents, after two sessions, when they play "sweet home alabama". The parents get excited about their progress. Its all fun, but serious when the students get stuck on a riff, or something, then its time to break it down, and start slow through it... Learn it slower, and gradually speed it up. I learned this way, and i consider myself a good guitar player, but many things yet to come. Every day gets better, bring your guitar, and lets learn the fun, and easy way to remember the music. Let the learning and fun begin!

learn the strings, and three chords, D C G. then sweet home alabama, which i feel is the perfect song to begin with... i know many other teachers that use that song first. ita well known, so when you play it for someone, they know it....
