-I cater my learning process based on the student's age, thier level on the instrument, and their specific goals in regards to the genre they wish to become proficient in. For example, if a student wants to learn how to play nothing but classic rock songs, I will put all my energy into helping them practice to achieve that goal in the most efficient way possible. There is no need for them to have as deep of an understanding of harmony and theory as someone who wants to delve into Jazz or Metal guitar. By the same token, if someone just wants to get very familiar with fretboard knowledge and play all their scales across the neck, I won't waste any time forcing them to learn classic rock riffs and pop songs!
Back in high school it was my peers, and since the few students varied drastically both in age and musical experience.

Syon was very patient and knowledgeable. I was an absolute beginner and he gave me a great into to playing guitar
I was Syon’s student for 6 months. Syon clearly communicated his intents for our lessons. I never had trouble understanding the significance of his lessons. He was very accommodating to my pace of learning and particular needs as a beginner guitar player. Furthermore, he provided good feedback and gave me tips, supplemented by assignments, to help me improve outside of our lessons. All in all Syon was an effective teacher and the 6 months I worked with him have been beneficial for my guitar playing.
