Guitar Lessons with Jacob –
Blues, Soul, Funk, Folk, Rock & Beyond
Howdy! Looking to start your guitar journey or take your playing to the next level? Whether you're into soulful blues, funky grooves, or just want to strum your favorite songs around a campfire, I’ve got you covered. I specialize in blues, rock, funk, pop, and acoustic folk, and I work with students of all ages (7+) and levels—from total beginners to advanced players.
Lessons are tailored to your goals, whether you're learning to solo, improve your rhythm, or accompany yourself while singing. I teach out of my cozy spot in Echo Park, but I can also travel to you for an additional fee.
My rates are very affordable for the LA area and discounts are available for bulk lesson purchases.
You’ll learn:
-The music you love — no generic method books
-How to improvise and solo with confidence
-Rhythm skills for your particular genre
-Chords, theory, tone, phrasing — all made approachable
I’ve been teaching since high school and love to help people meet their musical goals! Please reach out with any questions!

Jacob is a fantastic teacher and he has been really amazing at making sure a beginner like me feels like they’re making actual progress. I’ve given up too quickly with past teachers because I just felt too overwhelmed, but with Jacob I find I’m able to pick things up and move forward with my learning. He’s patient, kind, and explains things very clearly! I’d totally recommend him to other beginners, and also to advanced players. He’s super knowledgeable.
