About John
Guitar player with over 35 years experience in Rock guitar.Experience in live performance,Song writing, hot licks and improvisation.I have played guitar for over thirty years,written,recorded and produced my own original music,worked in music manufacturing with Gibson Guitars (Tobias/Stienberger),won a guitar competition for Sam Ash music Nashville twice in a row and played at local clubs in and around the Nashville area.I'm currently working as a Freelance guitarist.
I love the guitar and enjoy turning ordinary students into extraordinary guitarists.
I have taught a few but it has been difficult because there is a lot of competition and I live in a small town.
Over 30 years experience and dedication to electric guitar.

I want to teach beginner to intermediate level students. Basically its whatever they have in interest in and if I have knowledge and experience in it but I would generally start by getting the student familiar with the guitar and parts and basic functions.That would include the amp as well.Next is to teach chords, scales ect.Next is teaching Rock standards because learning songs is important so you can play with other musicians and play out.Next is basic song writing followed by lessons in phrasing and improvisation and ear training. Last is signature style and hot licks and how to apply them in improvisation.

I won a guitar competition in 2006 for Sam Ash Music in Nashville. I won the competition twice in a row.The first time I won a chromatic tuner.The second time I won the big prize a Guitar Research half stack valued at about $ 700 bucks after tax.Not bad for about five minutes of improvisation...
