About Richard
I have played guitar for almost 50 years. It's one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I enjoy seeing a student who knows nothing learn and grow on the guitar. Guitar is fun and I keep it that way.
Watching the improvement of my students.
I am just starting this business. I taught my son how to play from the beginning and now he plays right along with me. I love the guitar and love music. I've played in bands since the 60's playing surf music. I have played in several bands and recorded a CD. All of the music on the CD was written and all guitars and vocals were done by me. Every guitar teacher I've ever had has taught me something unique. I'm very much looking forward to pass the experience on to others.

The first thing I do is recommend that the student buy a Snark. They are about $20. What it does is hook on to the head of any guitar and shows if the guitar is in tune or not. If the guitar is out of tune it easily shows you how to put it in correct tuning. It's a meter. You turn the tuning pegs until the meter shows you that you are in tune. An untuned guitar doesn't sound good. I want all of my students to sound as good as possible. It's more fun that way.
