About Mark
I started playing guitar when I was in 7th grade, back in 1963. I've been in numerous bands and still perform today as a solo guitarist in restaurants, bars, clubs, festivals, corporate events and private parties.
I put myself through college by teaching guitar. I work well with students of all ages, especially youth, as I make the experience fun by playing along with the students as they learn.
I don't rely on books that studernts hate to use. I teach them to play by feel and from the heart and because of this they learn quickly.
I also build guitars that are custom designed for the growing student and designed to be lightweight, comfortable to hold and easy to play.
It's rewarding for me to sit down with a student and watch them grow over time. I truly enjoy instructing as much as they enjoy being my student. My classes are fun; we all look forward to the next one.
When I was in college I was asked to provide lessons for a young teen. After a few weeks the students parents told me how impressed they were with their child's progress in such a short time and that their neighbors wanted me to stop by because they wanted me to instruct their son as well.
My referrals came so frequently that I had developed a waiting list because I couldn't handle any additional students.
I've been playing guitar for over 50 years. I've been in numerous bands and I'm still a performing solo musician today.
I put myself through college by teaching guitar.

Beginners start by taking 45 minute class either every week or every other week.
We don't work off of a book; we learn to play from the heart by doing and playing our instruments together.
I provide all training materials at no additional charge.
From ages of approximately 9 years of age up to about 55 years of age.
Find an instructor that makes it fun. Learning an instrument shouldn't be a chore. It should be something that you look forward to and can't wait for the next lesson.

No question is a bad question but the best advice is to take a single lesson and see if you have a connection with the instructor. Did you have fun? Did you learn something new? Are you looking forward to the next lesson?
