About Gabriel

I've been a dedicated teacher musician and student myself! I never stop learning, and as long as you're always willing to learn something new you'll never stop growing! I practice what I preach, I'm a professional musician who has played amongst my heroes, and a successful teacher who has sent off some amazing young musicians into the world. I'm proud of what I do, and I give it my all!

I love that I get to share the joy of music, and make people smile. But most importantly I feel honored to be able to share the spark and add tinder to the fire 🔥 ⚡️, to help those who seek to find the inner greatness awaiting within to awaken. 🧙🏼‍♂️I also get to be goofy for a living lol!

After studying music at Sierra College I had an apprenticeship at a music store near Grass Valley Ca. I had always dreamed of being a music teacher in following my musical heroes footsteps. I was working at a Cafe in my late teens when my past guitar teacher came in to chat. He informed me he was moving and asked if I wanted to take over his students.

I've attended and studied music theory at Sierra College. I've been teaching, studying and most importantly playing music for over 2 decades.

About the lesson

I work with my student to first define some goals on their instrument. I then curate a lesson plan to give them the tools and knowledge to achieve their goals! 💪🏼

Disclaimer!! There is no get rich quick scheme, aka "Learn guitar in 10 days!!!" There is only practice, patience, and passion. Music is not easy and takes years to learn and lifetimes to master. I always tell my students right off the bat it's going to take 1-2 years just to start.

I have worked with all sorts of students. Young and seasoned alike. From 6-80 years and all levels at that. Most students I've encountered are just starting out. Some others-already have their feet wet and are looking to expand their knowledge/skill.

Make sure you've had all of your questions answered and you get what you pay for!

Make sure you know what you're looking for. Are you a complete beginner?

If not then what is it that you want to learn? Make sure you have some of these questions ready before reaching out.

However if you are a complete beginner and don't know where to start that's ok. A good teacher will be able to guide you in the right direction and find something that works for you.

Seeing my students progress. I ran into an old student the other day at one of the recording studios I teach out of. I had the privilege to listen in on his recording process. It was inspiring to witness his talent that he's worked so hard to achieve. I feel very proud to have been a part of his formative years as a musician. Shout out to you Brennen if you see this ha!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Don't be afraid to ask questions!

A good teacher will be able to listen and help you along as you go!

Make sure you know what you want to get out of music lessons. Is this for leasure? Is this for increasing your skills so you can play proffesionally?
Or finally work up the courage to play that open mic?

Why do you want to play music? Identify that first. Is it just something you "feel" ? For most of us we don't have a clear answer it's just a strong feeling.

And of course if you're more experienced try to identify your weakness and pit-falls, and what you most want to improve. Theory? Songwriting? Playing faster? Cleaner? Etc.
