About JP

I am a multilingual triple threat with an extensive performance record. My passion is to motivate my students to excel and master their artistic talents. I studied acting at the renowned Academy of Dramatic Arts, HB Studios and have a BA in Music from Rowan University. I also completed one year of Graduate Studies at Temple University. I am a native Spanish speaker and studied various languages in the university setting. My dance career may be on hiatus but I studied extensively at Steps in NYC and Koresh Studios in Philadelphia. I love to witness those epiphanic moments. The ‘aha!’ moment when a student just gets it!! Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with others and I feel the best way to do that is thru culture, music, creative expressions. Music is an international language. As the saying goes ‘when you enjoy your job you don’t work a day in your life’.

i have been teaching since I started my college career as a math tutor. I have continued to teach various languages and music for the past twenty years.

Weist Barron school of acting, HB studios,The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. BA in Music from Rowan University. Certificate in Vocal Performance from Master clases at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. One year of graduate studies at Temple University. Dancing at Encore DANCE academy, Steps in NYC and Koresh Dance Studio.

About the lesson

1/2 or hour lessons .. musical warm ups (vocal/instrumental) followed by repertoire old then new. Review previous weeks lesson and introduce new repertoire. If I am tutoring a subject (such as Spanish) I review vocabulary, speak a combination of 75/25 Spanish to English conversations, activity and new assignment.

I have worked with numerous types of students in all genres. From country music to opera, instrumental and vocal music.

Audition your potential teacher. Make sure they have adequate blend of academics and performance credits. A positive disposition, credible reputation, empathy and patience are other qualities that would be fitting.

I’m s fortunate stroke of serendipity, a young singer that is training in piano and voice entered a talent competition recently and it just so happens to be a competition one other older student of mine won a few years ago. Now they can utilize the process of instructional scaffolding.
