About Lacy

I have 14+ years of teaching private lesson, and more than that, I love exploring and creating wherever music is concerned. I've been a student, I've been a listener, I've been a promoter, I've been a performer, and my most fun role in music has been as a teacher. My degree in Music Education gave me a great backbone to dive into music, and through understanding theory, music instruments can be unlocked :) I can't wait to show you how

Hi, I love music. And I love passing that love on through teaching just as someone passed it on to me. I would be honored to chat more about my journey and the start of your journey.

Being from a musical family, I thought that everyone just did music. As I grew up, I was given leadership roles where I would have to teach dance routines to my showchoir or lead/accompany a piece of music. My music teachers all collectively made such an impact in my life that I naturally went down that path as well. I'm happy that this was my journey.

My undergraduate degree is in Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis. My entire life has been musical ex: piano lessons, church choirs, school choirs, auditioned choirs, musical, showchoirs, marching band, open mics, keyboardist in a rockabilly band, back up vocals in an indie band, and back up vocals in a Ramones cover band. I'm currently in an improv troupe off-Broadway working on my comedic chops as well. I'd love to tell you some stories!

About the lesson

First I will do a 30 minute consultation and explore music background, any social networks with music, and goals. I also like to ask about the student's top 5 artists/bands and songs that they would potentially like to learn. Complete beginners get started with a lesson and a theory book for curriculum, and I pepper the lessons with other fun songs and activities as the student progresses. Fun and informative yet structured is my motto :)
