About Kyle

Hello, I'm musician from Brooklyn living in Baltimore. I've been playing guitar for 10 years and have been playing live shows for about 7 years now. With my students I tend to gauge one's skill level and interest before proceeding to instruction but I always focus on honing their songwriting and improvisational skills foremost.

I enjoy and encourage working with all skill levels! Personally I have the most experience teaching Rock and Metal guitar and lead guitar in general. If you are having trouble soloing/improvising/shredding, I'm your man :). I appreciate it when students have some music in mind that they would like to learn. As your instructor, you and I will focus on your goals and aspirations as a player and then go about achieving them!

My first student was one of my coworkers. Teaching was a way for me regain a grasp on my fundamentals and force myself to practice consistently. My coworker was someone who was always interested in music but never had the time to sit down and learn an instrument. After she learned the basics of guitar she was already covering songs! Through teaching I was exposed to alot of music I had never known about and am inarguably a better player for it.

I've been playing guitar for 10 years since I was 15. I have been teaching on and off since coming to Baltimore (5 years)

About the lesson

First I like to see what their current skill level is. Then I like to find out about what type of music their interested and how theyd like to express themselves on the instrument.

Since moving to Baltimore most of my students have been neighbors, friends and co workers. Ever since covid started however my clientele has expanded thriugh the internet and one of my students was living in South Africa!

Think about all your favorite music and if you made music what would YOU want it to sound like? Who are your favorite musicians? As long as you can answer these questions for me you're all set.

Well my main guitar stopped buzzing and I made some serious strides with Eric Johnsons 'Cliffs of Dover' last night!

Is there anything else I need to know? Seriously, I dont want any student feeling like they cant ask me any question. These are private lessons, no question is dumb and I'm not here to chastise you because you forgot something or didnt practice.
