About Max
I teach online (via Zoom) and in a private studio in Southwest Austin. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in guitar & mandolin performance. I'm a full-time musician, and play in Hot Pickin 57s and the Eddie Collins & Max Zimmet Duo.
Max has played on stage with Sierra Hull, Mark Cosgrove (David Bromberg band), Beppe Gambetta, Howard Kalish (Texas Swing Music Hall of Fame), Jon Kemppainen (Squirrel Nut Zippers), among others.

Music is something I've been dedicated to for most of my life. It's great to get to share music with my students, and help them learn an instrument in a welcoming, relaxed and understanding environement.
I started teaching after returning to Austin after graduation from the Berklee College of Music

Max is a very talented musician and knows how to teach. Every lesson was enlightening.
Max is very positive and encouraging. He doesn’t put any pressure on his students but lets them proceed at the appropriate pace. He also is very efficient and doesn’t waste time in the lesson. And finally, he’s just a great player but doesn’t let his ego get in the way of sharing what he knows.
