Find someone who has worked in the apparel industry, such as myself, as there a very specific skills and knowledge needed in all areas of fashion jobs.
I currently have a student who had a sketch of a dress she wanted to make. She had sewn for a few years. The learning I brought to her was how to design her own textile print on the computer and send it off to be printed, plus how to make a pattern to fit her client. The dress is amazing and her client is very pleased.
