About Nataley

Hello, my name is Nataley, and I am excited to teach French to students who are eager to learn. I have taken French myself for years and I am keen to share my knowledge with others. You can find me on this website and set up an online lesson in just five minutes. If you're uncertain about choosing me, here are some reasons you might reconsider. Two years in a row, I was one of eight students chosen to attend a statewide foreign language competition at Arizona State University where I recited a poem in French in front of judges. I can help with pronunciation, grammar, learning new words, the whole bit. I hope you decide to give me a chance! I have been teaching my siblings French here and there over a couple of years, along with helping some close friends pronounce correctly.

I have taken French for years and I use all I know to help my students. I have learned over 7,000 words in just two years, and I can pronounce all of those accurately.

About the lesson

When working with a new student I first get to know their level, their strengths, and their needs. After that, I make a plan with them to get to certain learning point by a suggested date. If the student is anxious or appears to be struggling, I calm them down before continuing and try teaching from a different perspective. My goal is for students to feel confident and relaxed while learning.

I have worked with people who do not wish to listen much and who are slow to learn. However, I have also helped people who were excited to learn and picked it up fairly easily.

Some advice I would give is to research a teacher and pick one that would help the student feel at ease and not feel pressured or worried about their learning experience. I have had teachers who would make my heart pound with stress from anxiety and a big workload, and I ended up quitting. My hope is that students can find a teacher who is fun and easy-going, but gets the job done.

Recently, someone I worked with learned 50 words within a day. We are working on her pronunciation but I am proud of her progress.

Before talking to teachers about their needs, here are some things students should think through. "Do I know exactly what I need help with?" "Do I need to work on reading, writing, hearing, speaking, memorization?" I can help with any of those.
